PERM Labor Certification

Employers may file for PERM labor certification on behalf of immigrant workers. In order to apply for PERM certification, the employer must prove that there are no American workers who are "qualified, willing and able" to fill the positions for which the immigrant workers are being hired. After the U.S. Department of Labor determines that the positions are open due to a lack of qualified U.S. workers, they will usually provide PERM labor certification for the immigration workers.

In addition to PERM certification, there are many visas for "specialty occupations" that may be awarded to certain employees based upon their job type. These include:
